Untamed wilderness, off the beaten track, untouched natural beauty
The Eastern Cape’s Wild Coast shows off with its breath-taking natural beauty and miles of untamed wilderness running along a coastline of rugged cliffs, wild and desolate beaches, green rolling hills, forests, valleys and untouched shorelines. The weather is almost always mild, even in winters, and there is hardly a day the sun doesn’t shine. The area is a firm favourite, not only for its untouched beauty, but for the number of exhilarating activities and cultural experiences available. Chose from marine safaris, launching a ski boat for a day of deep-sea fishing, or surf lessons and outdoor adventure activities to traditional Xhosa cultural experiences where you could even stay overnight in a traditional rondavel hut for an authentic Xhosa village experience. Visit the famous “Hole in the Wall” or if you’re lucky enough, see one of the most spectacular marine events, the Sardine Run, attracting all kinds of marine life. Take to the high vantage points along the coastline and watch the seals, dolphins and whales as the Sardine Run moves slowly moves slowly north along the coast.
The Wild Coast is magical with its breathtaking views and beaches, some of the best surf on offer and seafood most only dream of. This truly is the heartbeat of Africa.
